STUDIO NEWS and UPDATES

March 2023

Just a reminder that the studio is closed March 22 through March 29.  I will be attending the MTNA National Conference.
I hope you are all enjoying the start of spring! The tulips are up and the crocus is blooming.  Students' pianistic skills are blooming also--I hope you are enjoying the musical growth!!

February 2023

February has arrived!  We are heading toward the halfway point and the annual celebration of Valentine's Day.  I am encouraging students to share a musical valentine with someone special (grandparent, parent, sibling, spouse, friend).  Pick your current favorite piece to play, or offer that special someone a choice of several and let them pick one for you to play.  “Music is love in search of a word.” — Sidney Lanier

January 2023

I am looking forward to see students beginning January 3...I hope you all enjoyed a musical holiday season!  Here's to a New Year filled with lots of new music!!

December 2022

Just a reminder that the studio will be closed from December 19th through January 2nd.  Lessons for 2023 will resume on January 3, 2023.  With the arrival of December we are already dealing with some snowy weather.  In general, lessons are able to be held at the studio, but due to the numerous microclimates in the area, don't hesitate to email/text/call the studio to check on road conditions in the area.

November 2022

We are almost into the holiday season.  The studio will be closed November 22 through November 25 for the Thanksgiving Holiday.  Students are beginning work on some seasonal music in addition to their "usual" repertoire.  I hope you are enjoying all of the music!

October 2022

Well the weather certainly hasn't felt much like fall, but the music in the studio has taken on a spooky sound.  I hope everyone is enjoying some of the "spooktacular" music being played.  It sounds like everyone has settled into a solid practice routine despite the arrival of all the fall activities!

September 2022

Fall lessons begin September 12!  I am looking forward to seeing everyone after our August break.  I will be attending the WSMTA Leadership Seminar the weekend of September 17-18, so it will be a busy week as we all gear back up for fall music studies.

July 2022

(Lessons begin July 5th!  Looking forward to seeing students for the summer session!!  Now is the time to plan for a regular practice time: what time each day will you practice?  I'm shooting for the hour before my first student on Mon., Tues., and Wed.  Thursday through Sunday will be the first thing after my morning exercise and coffee.  Remember: Practice means Progress!!  (The picture at the top of this page is from the June WSMTA conference--an Honors Recital performer!!)
