June 2013

Congratulations to the following students who were named outstanding studio pianists of the year at the year end studio recital:  Outstanding Overall Progress--Grace Z; Outstanding Students of the Year--Jacqueline C. and Kayla G.

May 2013

Congratulations to all 16 studio students who took the SKCMTA Musicianship Theory and Sightreading tests.  The following students received perfect scores on both the written theory and sightreading tests:
Elizabeth M. (Level 2), and Kayla G. (Level 3)

The following students received High Honors (94 % to 100%) on the written theory test:
Level 2:  Arielle P., Torin S., Elizabeth M.
Level 3:  Victoria H., Kayla G., Veronica H.,
Level 4:  Grace Z., Edward M., Anne Marie J., Preston A., Sasha W.,
Level 5:  Curt B.

The following students received Honors (88% to 93%) on the written theory test:

March 2013

Congratulations to Jacqueline C. who competed in the SKCMTA Chapter Honors Competition and received 4th place ranked honorable mention!  She was selected to perform Haydn Sonata XVI:4  1)Moderato at the Fine Arts Recital following the competition.  Edward M. and Grace Z.  also competed for the first time and had outstanding performances.

Congratulations to Kayla G. and Grace Z.  who were selected to perform at the Adjudications Honors recital following the conclusion of the SKCMTA Ajdudications.  13 students participated in the Adjudications program and had fantastic performances.

December 2012

Two students from the studio took the RCM Development Program theory tests.  Both Hannah L. (Intermediate Rudiments) and Jacob L. (Advanced Rudiments) received First Class Honors with Distinction with scores over 90%.  Way to go!!

October 2012

What a busy month!!
The SIPF Bach Festival was held October 6 at Sherman Clay in downtown Seattle.  Hannah L., Jacob L. and Grace Z. were participating for the first time.  Matthew M. received First Place in the J2 Anna Magdalena division.  Hannah L. received Second Place in the J2 Anna Magdalena division.  Jacqueline C. received Second Place in the J2 Little Preludes division.  Jacob L. received Honorable Mention in the J2 Little Preludes division.  Grace Z. had an outstanding performance in the J1 Anna Magdalena division.  Congratulations to all participants!

October 27th found 8 students from the studio in Ellensburg for the Central Washington University Sonatina Festival.  Students and their class level are as follows:  Elizabeth M. (Class 1), Kayla G. (Class 1--Second Place), Sasha W. (Class 3), Grace Z. (Class 3), Preston A. (Class 4), Edward M. (Class 5), Matthew M. (Class 6), and Jacqueline C. (Class 7--Honorable Mention).  Congratulations to all participants!
