Advancing Students
Students at this level apply their knowledge of theory, structure, form, and style to selected repertoire as they explore and learn works from the vast piano literature.   Questions of right and wrong develop into questions of interpretation, sound production and musicality.   Festivals, masterclasses, competitions and workshops all provide opportunities for valuable feedback and learning.

Repertoire choices cover all periods of music history.  Ensemble work is encouraged.  Students at this level may be sharing their musical skills as pianists for their school jazz bands, vocal ensemble groups, and church music groups.

Major piano composer works are studied with increasing length and technical difficulties encountered.  Student commitment to daily  practice at this level is required for continued steady progress.  Students are encouraged to share their unique musical voice as they convey the composer's musical intent to the listener.
