June 2017
Studio recital is June 9! The final lessons in June occur the week of June 12th. Lessons will resume on the summer schedule on July 10th! It's been a great year. Congratulations to all students on their fine work this year!!
May 2017
Congratulations to the following students on their WSMTA theory exam results: Lyric, Abraham, Kayla, Chelsea, Sierra, Jacob, Emily, Emi, Arielle, Katherine, Rachel, Julian, Grace. The studio average was 98.5% with 8 students attaining perfect scores!!

The studio is closed from March 17th to April 7th. Lessons resume April 10th. Keep working everyone on your theory--the exam is quickly approaching. Congratulations to Isabella and Abraham for completing the 40 page/piece challenge!!

Congratulations to all those who participated in adjudications/CHC!! Double congratulations to Kayla who was selected to perform in the Adjudications Honor Recital. Also congratulations to Opal on completing the 40 page/piece challenge!

February is flying by and students are working hard preparing for Chapter Honors Competition (Kayla) and adjudications (Katherine, Kayla, Grace, Julien, Arielle, Sierra, Chelsea, and Jacob) in March.

January 2017
Congratulations to Grace and Kayla for their performances at the Green River Piano Solo Contest. Grace performed in the junior high division playing a Chopin Waltz and Kayla competed in the high school division playing a movement of a Mozart Sonata.
Commendations also to Lyric, Emily Jazz and Evan for reaching 40 pages in the studio challenge! And Grace has reached 100 pages of music!! Keep up the great work!!

Late October Update: Congratulations to Arielle for reaching the 40 page/piece challenge...she's moving on to 80 pages next!

This is a busy month! Congratulations to Kayla for meeting the 40 page/piece challenge! She's aiming for 80 pages of new music as her next goal.
I will be at the WSMTA District 1 & 2 conference on October 8 for a fabulous day of teaching workshops and masterclasses...even as teachers we never stop learning!
The studio is going to the Seattle Opera on October 13 for a dress rehearsal of Hansel and Gretel. Saturday October 15 is the Sonatina Festival at Central Washington University in Ellensburg. Good luck to Sierra, Emily, Julian, Arielle, Grace and Kayla!

As WSMTA Vice-President, I attended the WSMTA Leadership conference the last weekend in September for an amazing set of workshops to invigorate WSMTA and my studio. It's so fabulous to be a part of such a dynamic organization.

August 2016
Students are working hard on learning new music. We are also working on pieces for the CWU Sonatina festival. Other exciting summer projects include some pop music, Broadway songs, and Disney favorites. Studio closes August 25th for a short break before school begins.
July 2016
The new studio year begins July 6, 2016. Get ready for the 40 piece/page challenge!!
